THE ACADEMIC UNION, OXFORD (AU)

The Academic Union, Oxford is an academic community. It has been founded in 2014 on the basis of the Club of the Rectors of Europe (2000) on the initiative of the international scientific and business community. Memorandum to establish the Academic Union has been signed by Rectors Professors, scientists, inventors and business representatives from 30 countries.
Leaders of higher education, institutions, colleges, researchers, scientists, teachers, and representatives of higher education and business structures can join the Academic Union, Oxford, regardless of ethnic or religious backgrounds. In addition, educational organizations and institutions can join the Academic Union as associate members.

Its vision is to support the endeavours of its members, for the innovative projects and programmes, as well as raise interest and funding for such projects.
-accommodation service, as well as transport services for the Union members during their Oxford visits;
-design and manufacturing of bespoke academic gowns and personal regalia for university Rectors and Professors.
9) Presentation of the Oxford Academic Union members’ interests as well as their patronage at prestigious forums, symposiums, conferences and exhibitions




The primary aim of the Union is to consolidate the efforts of scientists, educators, industrialists, and manufacturers on science education and business integration and development in the XXI st century.

The Academic Union, Oxford is regulated by the Academic Council and its work is carried out by its members voluntarily.
The AU is a non-profit organisation and is not involved in commercial activities.
The EBA Conferences Projects Department is responsible for the financial aspects of the Union.
The Academic Council is chaired by the Honorary President Dr. Vincenzo Costigliola, in coordination with the management department and the Council Secretariat is in charge of the organization’s work.
The scientific work of the Academic Union functions on the basis of independent Academic Committees, headed by the Chairpersons.


The AU members are invited to attend the annual Union gathering - Oxford Summit of Leaders, which is traditionally held in Oxford since 2000, as well as other activities of the Union’s partners to share experiences, discuss new research and gain support from each other.

The Academic Union, Oxford will promote and strengthen professional relationships of its members.


The Academic Union functions on the basis of independent Academic Committees in the following fields of expertise:


Mission and strategy

AU mission is integration and coordination of the educational institutions, scientific research institutes, and business structures to enhance and improve educational research, educational and cultural activities, and to provide scientific ideas and inventions implementation.




Academic Union members are joined to actively participate in the following international projects:
1) Develop a common agenda on education, scientific and technical cooperation, modern technologies; 2) Establish an International Center in Oxford (UK) the AU Training Center to organize education and training on its basis for Top Managers and students from Union members with the corresponding issuance of certificates;
3) Organisation of the Academic Lounge (Rectors' Lounge Service) in Oxford (UK):

-legal address for the Union member;
-personal secretary;
-publication of  monographs, scientific papers and books in Oxford with the appropriate registration in the UK, as well as  their distribution in the UK libraries, and Union university- member’s libraries;
-opportunities for engagement as a speaker, lecturer or trainor under the EBA Speakers Bureau;

4) Annual gathering of Union members - Oxford Summit of Leaders ‘Science and Education’;
5) Inclusion of the AU member information research and accomplishments in the ‘The Socrates Almanac’, CD, subscription to Socrates Almanac and E-magazine 'The AU Leaders' Times';
6) Recommendation of the Academic Union members to the Europe Business Assembly Speakers' Bureau according to the field of expertise;
7) Establishment of an Academic Union department according to the field of expertise;
8) Establishment of nominal grants and scholarships to Union members’ universities promoting scientific, creative and social activities of its members;
10) Organisation of the international open competitions of professional advancement;
11) Nominations for honorary titles and awards of the AU members who are prominent scientists, teachers, managers and students.
